About This Site
Hi! my name is John Seymour, and I have been a professional educator for more than 40 years and I thought I had seen everything that could be done in the field of education. But I must admit that I was WRONG!
When ChatGPT and other generative AI models began to roll-out to the public in the Summer of 2023, I must admit I was extremely skeptical. But as I learned just what this new technology was all about, I begain to see not only the potential for it, but I also began to develop a passion for its practical use in the classroom.
This website was created as a way to communicate what I see as the value and potential to reach students in an entirely new and innovative way by allowing them the freedom to learn and develop new skills and communicate in ways that best fit their individual needs.
Right now it is completely understandable that many educators are torn over concerns for academic integrity, the safety of student data, and a distrust for an as yet unproven technology that has great potential yet is quite often misunderstood.
I will be sharing new tools and resources, reviews of new apps and uses for ai technology, and academic research on both the benefits and potential pitfalls of teaching with AI.
This is an entirely new endeavor for me but one that I am passionate about. Please join me on this journey as we navigate what has proven to be a very dynamic and rapid field of educational pedagogy.
